Drug Abuse can lead to numerous problems at home and in the workplace. You can easily reduce problematic behavior and other health and safety risks by implementing a simple pre-employment drug screening program. A successful program filters out the employees that may be a safety risk to your organization, before they become part of your organization.
reduce employee turn over
decrease employee theft
lesson problematic behavior
protect your workplace and staff from risk or injury
help keep your insurance rates low
protect any safety rating your company has achieved
We can get your drug testing program started quickly. You will not have to waste time or money setting up or managing the account. We do all of that for you. All you have to do is let us know what you need and when.
All testing is processed by a SAMSHA certified laboratory. Testing is laboratory-based, which means your organization will not have to deal with embarrassing questions or the awkward collection procedures. Having a non-biased third party perform the collection procedure, rather than someone in your Human Resources Department can also be important from a legal standpoint, by eliminating discriminatory claims if someone is positive or not hired.
1. Call one of our test experts to discuss your testing needs, volume-based discounts, and request a brief account set up pack, including a list of the nearest labs.
2. When you need testing, contact us with the first name, last name, and date of birth of each employee.
3. Your employee/employees get collected at one of our 6000 partner labs.
4. Call to check lab results within 1 to 3 days later.
Reasonable Suspicion: If you have an employee displaying a seemingly sudden behavior change, or perhaps you have another reason to believe they are abusing drugs, a surprise drug test can be the best way to get some quick answers. Some organizations will also consider a temporary leave until usage can be confirmed or disproved.
Post-Accident: Accidents will happen, and they can often be costly or even injure or kill one of your workers. Post-accident drug testing is important in establishing or ruling out liability issues. Testing within 12 hours of the accident is ideal. It is important to remember a positive drug test does not prove the individual was using at the time, unless perhaps the employee was visibly intoxicated or a recent exposure test (blood) was performed.
Periodic: Periodic drug testing can be a great way to deter drug use and emphasize your appreciation for the health and safety of your staff. Staff is usually informed of the testing in advance; however, this allows an opportunity of course to temporarily stop using until after the test has been completed.
Return-to-Duty: Return-to-duty testing is usually announced, and is helpful in cases where the employee is returning to the job after being suspended for drug use, or if the employee has been out of work for a significant period of time.
If you have concerns about drug abuse longer than a few days or weeks ago you may want to look into hair follicle testing, which can lengthen the detection window up to 90 days.
